    Fountain with Kızık Fish

    Balıklı Çeşme (Sacred Fish Park) is in Kızık Village, 10 kilometers from the district center. While the fish, also known as dish-washing fish and believed to be sacred by the public, were housed in the pond formed by the spring, they now live in an artificial pond in the park built in the lower part. This place in Kızık Village is also suitable for a picnic. 

    Polat Beypınarı

    Beypınarı promenade area, which is three kilometers from Polat town and 7 kilometers from Doğanşehir, is the most popular recreation area in Doğanşehir after Takaz. A beautiful trout farm was established by utilizing the spring water from a field.

    Orduzu Pınarbaşı

    Orduzu Pınarbaşı is the best-known recreation spot in the center of Malatya. It is in Orduzu town on the Malatya-Elazig highway, five kilometers from the center. The lake, formed by a set-in front of the spring waters, and the pine and other trees on both slopes of the lake create a very beautiful view. The people of Malatya and the guests of Malatya show great interest to this beautiful promenade, especially in the summer months.

    Günpınar Waterfall

    The Günpınar Waterfall is in Günpınar Village of Darende district. It is seven kilometers from the district. The water falls from the source in three stages from a height of approximately 40 meters. On the left side of the waterfall, the spring water, coming independently of the main stream, freezes in winter and makes the waterfall look like Pamukkale. There are also food and beverage facilities around the waterfall. There is also the opportunity to hike for 1.5 kilometers towards the source of the water.

    Sürgü Takaz Recreation Area

    Takaz, located in Sürgü town, 14 kilometers southeast of Doğanşehir, is a popular recreation spot for local people. Every day, many visitors from Malatya go to Takaz to see their beauty and eat delicious trout. The promenade, which is 70 kilometers from Malatya, looks like a natural aquarium with its cold and clean waters.

    Tohma River Canyon

    Darende is between Somuncu Baba Mosque and Taş Köprü. Both slopes of the Tohma River are in the form of steep cliffs and a steep valley. The natural hollows and cave-shaped parts on the rocks attract attention. In addition, on the slopes of these rocks, the rocks were carved and water was brought to the Somuncu Baba Mosque by channel. Some parts of this partially collapsed channel were repaired with concrete building materials. Activities such as rafting, trekking, photo safari and climbing are performed in the area. The eight-kilometer-long canyon is a medium difficulty, comfortable course, and the round trip takes about an hour.

    Arguvan Türküleri (Folk Songs)

    Malatya has a unique folk song heritage and repertoire. In the words of the folk songs, syllable sizes of seven, eight and 11 are used. Lamentations, henna songs, love  songs, business  songs, folk songs about nature and expat  songs  are the  basis of Malatya folk songs. In the performance of the songs, the baglama, violin, kaval, zither, cümbüş, violin, tambourine, drum and zurna has been used.

    Culture of Dede Korkut

    Dede Korkut; glorified in epics, stories and fairy tales, rooted in the traditions of the nomadic steppe life and still find a place in the daily practices of settled life; He is a semi-legendary sage who has an important place in social life with his concise words, expressions, musical instruments and melodies reflected in the traditions of birth, marriage and death.

    The Book of Dede Korkut, in which Dede Korkut's concise words, epic and lyrical poems and his events are told, has survived from the 15th century to the present day with two manuscripts. Dede Korkut culture originated from this book, but it has been carried to the present day by proceeding in two ways, from written sources and oral culture.

    Dede Korkut culture in Türkiye today; With its essence, verbal expressions, melodic music tradition, various beliefs and practices are widely practiced. Social practices such as naming, asking for a girl, wedding, mourning, and many motifs such as Hızır, certain numbers, and tree cult are related to the culture of Dede Korkut. Values such as generosity, hospitality, courage and compassion, as included in the Dede Korkut stories, are kept alive today and these play an important role in the construction of dialogue and social peace among all segments of society.

    Unmetered Folk Songs

    The folk songs in the region are performed with a different attitude and style. Folk song type called Arguvan Tongue is common. Some of these folk song type, named after Arguvan, a district of Malatya, is lament. Subjects like love, missing, expatriate, poverty and destiny are told in these songs.
